Libby Durnwald participates in new D.C. Flyers internship program

2014 Jul 9

Libby Durnwald, from Maumee, OH, participated in the University of Dayton's D.C. Flyers internship program this summer, one of 15 UD students selected.

During the 10-week internship, Libby had the opportunity to develop personal talents and gain real-world experience through a placement with the Legislative Branch of Catholic Relief Services.

D.C. Flyers, launched by the University Honors program and the political science department, is part of a continued effort to provide students with opportunities to enrich their education through experiential learning.

The program provided networking opportunities as well. It intentionally sought to engage students with the Dayton alumni base in the D.C. area, with more than a third of the students placed with or through a D.C. area alumnus.

"Being immersed in Washington, D.C. this summer has been a transformative education experience that has allowed me to combine my passions and knowledge to further my professional development," Libby said.
