Gurjot Kaur participates in new D.C. Flyers internship program

2014 Jul 9

Gurjot Kaur, from Beavercreek, OH, participated in the University of Dayton's D.C. Flyers internship program this summer, one of 15 UD students selected.

During the 10-week internship, Gurjot had the opportunity to develop personal talents and gain real-world experience through a placement with Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown.

D.C. Flyers, launched by the University Honors program and the political science department, is part of a continued effort to provide students with opportunities to enrich their education through experiential learning.

The program provided networking opportunities as well. It intentionally sought to engage students with the Dayton alumni base in the D.C. area, with more than a third of the students placed with or through a D.C. area alumnus.

"The D.C. Flyers experience has allowed me to experience our nation's capitol from a very different perspective. Throughout my internship, class, and civic engagement, I am constantly meeting fascinating new people and exploring future career options, and I'm so grateful to have this opportunity," Gurjot said.
