Bradley Petrella Named to Fair Trade Campaigns National Student Leadership Committee

2018 Jan 16

Fair Trade Campaigns appointed Bradley Petrella to its national student leadership committee to advise Fair Trade Campaigns on strategy, assist campus campaigns and support campus advocates.

"Bradley stands out for his advocacy work with us. His dedication to empowering fair trade producers and artisans around the world is the kind of energy we need on the committee," said Kylie Nealis, the national organizer for Fair Trade colleges and universities.

He also will help Fair Trade Campaigns develop case studies on campaign permanency and sustainable, long-term advocacy and help develop strategies and resources to keep Fair Trade Campaigns alumni engaged with the Fair Trade movement after graduation. He'll also help maintain the Fair Trade Campaigns alumni LinkedIn group.

The appointment will last through May 2018.

"Achieving Fair Trade status can be quite difficult for some universities. I believe our work of integrating fair trade and sustainability at UD is in concert with Fair Trade Campaigns's goal to help with the longevity of campus campaigns and could provide a guide for other universities," Petrella said.

In addition to his work helping the University achieve the Fair Trade designation from Fair Trade Campaigns, Petrella also is an intern in the University of Dayton Human Rights Center, a Dayton Civic Scholar and former president of the UD student group New Abolitionist Movement, which is dedicated to the elimination of human trafficking.
